Edward Dauer Uses Beneficiary Designation to Ensure His Legacy of Support Continues

Edward Dauer knows how important Smile Train’s work is. That’s why he is adding a beneficiary designation from a financial account to his already impactful legacy of support.
Many years ago, Edward and his late wife, Carol, were deeply moved by Smile Train’s life-changing work and committed themselves to continuing it.
“What Smile Train accomplishes is of real value,” Edward says. “In many parts of the world, and here to some extent, to be born with a cleft is a barrier that can deny quality of life because of bullying, social ostracism, even exclusion from school.”
That’s why investing in Smile Train is so important and why we work hard to extract the maximum productivity from every dollar. As Edward notes, Smile Train’s local medical partners share their training and knowledge with others in their communities, expanding their good work.
“Every dollar invested yields more than a dollar in benefits thanks to surgeries and training,” Edward says. “Smile Train is well managed, does important work, and is sustainable. They receive an A-plus in each category.”
Edward hopes others will join him in making a legacy gift to Smile Train, extending our healing touch around the world for years to come.
“Smile Train is one of the best,” he says. “Lots of charities would do well to emulate.”
